Join us for the 2023-2024
Choral Season!
Welcome Amazing Musicians!
Our choral season begins on September 7th, 2023. Here are a few things to know about membership in The Atlanta Children's Choir.
-
We have rolling admissions! We have singers of all experience levels and know that children can learn very quickly! For this reason we will be accepting talented singers through October 5th who are eager to join our growing ensemble!
-
Our rehearsals take place at The Atlanta Friends Meeting. 701 W. Howard Ave. Decatur, GA 30030. Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 5:30pm to 6:45pm.

There are two 9 week sessions for the 2023-2024 choral season. The first session begins after Labor Day on Thursday, September 7th and goes through November 17th. The second session begins after the school winter holiday break on January 11th and goes through March 22nd.
-
The special tuition fee of $99.00 is for each choral session, $198.00 for 2 sessions. This is a fantastic and unheard of rate, which allows us to operate while also giving families access to a wonderful choral program. And if you have multiple children like me, this rate can truly be a blessing! Click the DONATE tab to make your $99.00 or $198.00 payment OR you can pay when completing the choir application form. Also feel free to sponsor a child by clicking the same DONATE tab and putting "sponsorship" in the comments section.
-
Rehearsals are each Thursday at 5:30pm to 6:45pm, however there are exceptions for City Schools of Decatur holidays and breaks. See our rehearsal calendar.
-
The Atlanta Friends Meeting follows the CDC guidelines with regard to highly transmissible airborne viruses such as Covid-19. Masks are optional inside of the building when the transmission level is low or medium. If the city transmission levels are high, masks are required.

Auditions??? There are none! Read on to find out why!
After ruminating upon my childhood choral experiences, I realized that many of the best moments came from a desire and eagerness to sing, and not my vocal ability. In fact, I was incredibly shy back then, and would have been terrified to audition in front of someone I didn't know.
Many school choirs and church choirs require no audition but with the correct training and technique, the sound can be phenomenal! As we draw in young children to ACC, we believe the audition aspect can cause some apprehension and would never want turn a child away and have them feel inadequate while using one of the greatest gifts they have to offer, which is their voice! Consequently, there will be no formal auditions for this season, but if your child would like to sing for us after visiting a rehearsal, we can absolutely set this up! Singers should have a:
1. Completed application
2. Perform a 60 second song with or without background music.
3. Clap call and response rhythms.
4. Sight-reading example
