Audition Requirements
We have no auditions! We know that children have varied experience levels when it comes to singing, overall music knowledge, and participation in a choir. With 19+ years of experience in music education and never cutting a singer from the group, we know that children have the ability to learn the necessary vocal techniques to create a beautiful sound! There is one important requirement, they must love singing!
Age Range for Singers
We allow singers from 1st grade to 8th grade (6 years old to 13 years old). See our contact information below if you have any questions regarding the age range.
Rehearsal and Performance Times
There are two introductory choir rehearsals this year. On Friday, October 2nd and October 9th we will learn interactive warm ups, name songs, and two choral selections. This is a great opportunity to meet your director, ask questions, and have fun singing with other children in the Metro Atlanta area! Our regular season will commence in 2027. Follow us on social to stay tuned to the 2027 dates and times.
Our rehearsals take place at The Little Five Points Community Center at 1083 Austin Ave. NE Atlanta, 30307. Rehearsals for Fun Fridays are from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.

Auditions are not mandatory?
Read on to find out why!

After ruminating upon my childhood choral experiences, I realized that many of the best musical moments came from a desire and eagerness to sing, and not my vocal ability. In fact, I was incredibly shy back then, and would have been terrified to audition in front of someone I didn't know.
Many school and church choirs require no audition but with the correct training and technique, the sound can be phenomenal! As a public school educator for 19 years, I know that singers grow over time. As we draw in young children to The Atlanta Children's Choir, the audition aspect can cause apprehension for some. We want all singers to feel confident using one of the greatest gifts they have to offer, which is their voice!
Consequently, there will be no formal auditions for this season. If your child would like to sing for us after visiting a rehearsal please let us know, however there will be opportunities during rehearsal for singers to showcase their solo voice.
